Invitation Design Process
Begin THE CONVERSATION
Let’s talk on the phone, by email, or in person. We’ll discuss your wedding date, your venue, and your wedding style, as well as how many invitations you will need. Since each invitation is handmade, lead-time is a minimum of 5 months before your wedding. At least 6-8 months prior is best.
Get STARTED
Now it’s time for the fun part. We’ll start bouncing ideas back and forth for your custom design. We would love to hear about or see examples of concepts or elements you have found elsewhere that you would like us to incorporate into your design. We’ll discuss colors, wording, custom logos, accents, paper style, and specialty envelopes. With this information, we will create a custom quote reflecting your invitation preferences.
Time TO DESIGN
After our conversations and a non-refundable design fee, we will begin designing your invitations. Initial designs will be presented as a PDF proof of your invitation sent to you in an email within 1 to 3 weeks. The exact time will depend on the complexity of the project. The design fee includes three rounds of revisions free of charge with each additional proof after being $20.
F inal PROOF
When all revisions are made, we will create a hard copy proof so that you can see what your invitations will look like printed. Once you receive the hard copy, please check that all the information is correct prior to final approval as we will not able to make changes once production begins. After the final proof is approved, and the complete production payment is received, the production process begins. We’ll order the materials, print, and assemble everything together to make your custom invitation collection. Of course, the production time will also depend on the complexity of the design and the quantity ordered.
Ready TO MAIL!
We will ensure that your invitations are ready to be picked up or shipped to you no later than 2½ months before your wedding day. Shipping costs are separate and Maryland residents are subject to a 6% sales tax on paper goods.
